I wish I could find more ideas for elderly men in nursing homes. My 80yr old dad is now there (and it sucks..to say the least) hes always saying hes bored. So far I got him a portable DVD player..I can get DVDs for a dime a dozen these days, a long handled shower brush which he LOVES as a back scratcher, slipper socks and slippers, his own pullups as they will run out of his sz & give him ones that are too tight, his own bandaid/1st aid box, mini cereal boxes for snacks, tissues, on Ebay I found some removable vinyl art stickers (with deer & birsds) & put them up to make it a little more manly decorated lol.. I did get him a dollar store white board but he always forgets to replace the top, so I got him a small cork board with thumb tacks, I went to a thrift store and found him some nice fitted and flat sheets & pillow cases (the nursing homes OFTEN run low) very impt to have a fabric marker and put their name on EVERYTHING! I got some self stick velcro and a little plastic bin from the dollar store and fastened the bin to his tray so he doesn't keep knocking his remote & tissues on the floor, He loves to play tic tac toe with my daughter, I'm now planning on somehow rigging up a little bag to the side of his chair… and I think I'm going to get him his own see thru bingo chips too. Just a few ideas 😉
