The Brazilian bride and groom whose wedding day was horrifically interrupted when a gunman opened fire on guests in a church earlier this year, have spoken of their terror after the incident made global news headlines.
Jailton and Cristina Barbosa decided to go ahead with the ceremony in Limoeiro de Anadia, north east Brazil after the shock shooting.
But the couple revealed they had to take medication to calm their shattered nerves before saying their vows.
And now they hardly talk about their wedding because of the bad memories.
The newlyweds, who have been together for three years, said they chose to ‘defy the bad omens’ that nearly destroyed their day which left three people injured.
